Millennium Hotel

Over two consecutive stages spanning 2023 to 2025, Pope Housing and Construction delivered a comprehensive refurbishment programme of approximately 340 guest rooms at the Millennium Hotel Rotorua, transforming tired, ageing rooms into contemporary, high-quality spaces while the hotel remained operational.

Working floor-by-floor and room-by-room, the team maintained strict quality, safety and cleanliness standards throughout. The scope included complete strip-out of existing interiors, bathroom demolition and preparation, plumbing and electrical alterations, bespoke upholstered bedhead feature walls with integrated LED lighting, new custom joinery, bathroom upgrades, new floor finishes, and interior painting and decorating.

The completed rooms now provide guests with a warm, modern and sophisticated environment featuring premium finishes, rich timber detailing and upgraded bathrooms, significantly elevating the guest experience while extending the life of the hotel’s accommodation assets.
